Nature Biotechnology | Professor Wang Changhong/Li Jing Collaborated to Publish Research Results of Bioinformatics
2021-09-24743Cell is the basic unit of life. New methods based on second-generation sequencing and single-cell analysis reveal the nature and laws of life at a deeper level. Due to the continuous emergence of new methods and tools, it is urgent to benchmark the mainstream analysis methods and algorithms to provide scientific and technological workers with a basis for selection.

On September 9, 2021, SEQC-2 published a series of articles in the form of cover articles and special issues (https://www.nature.com/collections/fjhdjcdefg) in Nature Biotechnology, including 5 research papers in Nature Biotechnology, 1 research paper, social review and review articles in Scientific Data. Professor Li Jing’s team jointly published 3 papers with Professor Wang Changhong of Loma Linda University in the United States. Dr. Yang Chaowei from Professor Li Jing’s team was the first author of two papers and the third author of one paper, and Professor Wang Changhong was the corresponding author of three papers.
Bioinformatics has become an important tool in the context of multi-omics sequencing in the field of life and health, which is indispensable for clinical and basic research. In the three research papers in this collaboration, the team established a set of standards for single-cell detection samples based on breast cancer and B lymphocytes, 20 sets of standards for single-cell transcriptome databases, and evaluation methods for bioinformatic analysis (Wanqiu Chen, Nat Biotechnol, 2021; Xin Chen, Sci Data, 2021). In addition, a reference sample and data set for whole-genome sequencing to evaluate tumor mutation detection has been established (Li Tai Fang, Nat Biotechnol, 2021).
