Under the direction of Academician Nanshan Zhong, leader of Guangdong Province COVID-19 Prevention and Control Expert Group, Director Xinwen Chen and Deputy Director Jincun Zhao of the Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences who led the Research Topic IV held an urgent implementation discussion on Research Topic IV for Key Scientific Research Project of 2019-nCoV Prevention and Treatment on the 16^th floor.

The attendees unfolded in-depth discussions on the research objectives, research contents and existing problems of Research Topic IV 2019-nCoV Pathogenesis Research. The discussion clarified the key contents to be studied, and defined the research plan and timeline. The tasks for respective participants were further discussed, and important detailed problems to be urgently addressed were identified.

This discussion was aimed to sort out the possible problems and difficulties in project execution, practically establish corresponding solutions, so as to accelerate the implementation of topic researches for Key Scientific Research Project of 2019-nCoV Prevention and Treatment, and enhance the clinicians’ understanding on the pathogenic pattern and disease development pattern. The ultimate goal was to reduce the clinical fatality rate, and provide important scientific guidelines and theoretical support for 2019-nCoV prevention and control.
